The International Symposium on Chromaffin
Cell Biology (ISCCB) gathers a group of about 150 scientists
from all over the world, who meets every 2 years, to discuss
the recent progresses on the molecular mechanisms involving
cell excitability, excitation-secretion coupling, membrane
ion channels and receptors, Ca2+ signaling and
exocytosis, as well as the biogenesis and motion of
secretory vesicles, synthesis, storage and release of
secreted products (catecholamines, chromogranins, ATP) of
chromaffin cells. The
development of new technologies, including nanotec devices,
that allow accurate measurements of released catecholamines,
vesicle trafficking, exocytosis, action potential recordings, are
also presented and discussed.
The next ISCCB will be held the 11-15
October 2007 at Sestri Levante, a beautiful Ligurian city
east of Genova located between Le Cinque Terre and
Portofino.
